Al-Falaq Word By Word Meaning In English | Surat al-falaq is the second last letter in the arrangement of letters in the Qur’an. Through Surat al-Falaq, we are taught to always take refuge in Allah from all the evil of his creatures.

قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡفَلَقِ  ١ 

qul a’ụżu birabbil-falaq

1. Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak

بِرَبِّ

أَعُوذُ

قُلۡ

in (the) Lord

I seek refuge

say,

 

 

ٱلۡفَلَقِ

 

 

(of) the dawn,

 

مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ  ٢ 

min syarri mā khalaq

2. From the evil of that which He created

مَا

شَرِّ

مِن

(of) what

(the) evil

from

 

 

خَلَقَ

 

 

He created,

 

وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ٣ 

wa min syarri gāsiqin iżā waqab

3. And from the evil of darkness when it settles

غَاسِقٍ

شَرِّ

وَمِن

(of) darkness

(the) evil

And from

 

وَقَبَ

إِذَا

 

it spreads

When

 

وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّٰثَٰتِ فِي ٱلۡعُقَدِ ٤ 

wa min syarrin-naffāṡāti fil-‘uqad

4. And from the evil of the blowers in knots

ٱلنَّفَّٰثَٰتِ

شَرِّ

وَمِن

(of) the blowers

(the) evil

And from

 

ٱلۡعُقَدِ

فِي

 

the knots,

In

 

وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ٥

wa min syarri ḥāsidin iżā ḥasad

5. And from the evil of an envier when he envies.”

حَاسِدٍ

شَرِّ

وَمِن

(of) an envier

(the) evil

And from

 

حَسَدَ

إِذَا

 

he envies.”
